The Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines was the location for Leonard Simpson’s sixth annual 10 Best-Dressed Awards on Nov. 21. Sally B. Thornton was the honorary chairwoman of this red-carpet gala. Celebrity TV personality Amanda Baker was mistress of ceremonies, while Lena Lewis gave the proclamation presentation. Auctioneer Shawn Parr headed up the live auction, which began with Stephen Fishwick transforming a blank canvas into an exceptional piece of art.
The theme for the evening was “Royals and Romanticism of Style.” The theatrical fashion show, produced by Leonard Simpson and John Jimenez, transformed the runway into an over the top spectacle, and the evening finished with live music and dancing.
Winners of the 2013 10 Best Dressed were Anahi Arata, Marjan Daneshmand, Jacqueline Foster, Rosanne Indermill, Jeanne Larson, Yolanda Walter-Meade, Kristi Pieper, Doreen Schonbrun, Maggie Watkins, May Zawaideh, Kambiz Agahnia, Sean Caddell, Michael Farah, Ray W. Grimm, Jr., Tom Karlo, Steven Cox, Scott Muske, Manoj Motwani, M.D., David Patrone and A.G. Spanos.

Holiday Fashion Show
Muttropolis proved fashion is not only for the human among us. The La Jolla boutique presented a holiday fashion show on Nov. 16, showing off the latest fun fashions. Dogs of all sizes wagged down the runway, modeling the upcoming trends. Some of the standouts on the catwalk were Desi with a terrific red plaid coat, shoes, reindeer antlers and sleigh bells for a necklace.
Lucy wore a “Santa Baby” outfit with candy cane skirts, while Isabella modeled a beautiful pumpkin colored sweater. Lambchop showed off a plaid coat with a Santa Claus hat embellished with white fur, and Dexter showed off a snowflake hoodie trimmed with brown fur. One favorite was a cute Dachshund wearing a red, green and white shirt perfect for the upcoming holidays. Another crowd pleaser featured two rabbit models.
