Massage Envy San Diego, in partnership with The Salvation Army, will be helping struggling San Diego families this holiday season by hosting a toy drive in each of their Massage Envy locations throughout San Diego County through Dec. 16.
Lauren Baldwin, Massage Envy La Jolla Franchisee, is thrilled to be involved with the effort.
“Massage Envy is a very community minded organization. The holidays are a great time to really get everyone involved. The Salvation Army is near and dear to several of the franchisees having personal experiences and we all felt they would be a perfect fit,” said Baldwin. “We are hoping that the kids will feel joy and love during the holidays, as every child should feel. The look on their faces is just priceless.”
Last year alone, The Salvation Army provided 48,500 toys (in addition to stocking stuffers) for 19,000 local children. The Salvation Army’s goal for 2016 is to provide 50,000 toys to 20,000 children countywide. Macy’s UTC celebrates the return of Make-A-Wish
The annual letter-writing program has kicked off at Macy’s nationwide. As the season of giving begins, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish team up for the 9th annual Believe campaign, which includes the iconic letter-writing program and festivities to spread the spirit of generosity and goodwill. Through Dec. 24, “believers” of all ages can mail a letter to Santa at the big red letterbox at any local Macy’s store or online at macys.com/believe. For every letter received, in store or online, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million, to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Since 2008, Macy’s Believe campaign has brought together communities across the country, gathering support for the common cause and resulting in nearly $13 million donated to Make-A-Wish.
