Mission Bay High and Pacific Beach Middle Schools are both enjoying a successful year of surfing with the Scholastic Surf Series. 

Mission Bay High School collected medals Sunday, Dec. 15 in Oceanside with three of the team members making it to the finals. Kieran Wills placed fifth in men’s short board, Lucas Monari caught sixth place in men’s short board and Pearl Moore rocked the girls’ heats with fourth place in long board and fifth place in short board (all three pictured at right). Pacific Beach Middle School surf team brought home six trophies and a team second place at a Scholastic Surf Series contest at La Jolla Shores on Dec. 21 (above). Ciara Gray placed third in both short and long board, while Shelby Moore brought home first in short and long board. Tyler Reed placed fifth in short board and Nicolas Campagna scored a first place in body board.
