After already posting a pair of lopsided victories to open the season, the San Diego Sockers travel to Glendale, Ariz. on Saturday, Nov. 17 in search of a record-tying 40th straight conquest. They’ll face the Arizona Storm.

Player-captain Aaron Susi netted a hat trick with two assists in his return to the starting lineup as the Sockers (2-0) defeated Real Phoenix 11-5 on Nov. 10 before 2,914 at the Valley View Casino Center (formerly the San Diego Sports Arena). This was their 39th straight win, dating back to Dec. 27, 2010.

Susi, returning to the lineup after serving a one-game league suspension, put in all five of his points before halftime as the Sockers surged to an 8-1 lead. Midfielder Brian Farber added a hat trick with an assist and leads the Sockers with five goals and nine points.

Last year’s league MVP Kraig Chiles added his fifth goal of the season and contributed two assists as well, and 43-year-old midfielder Paul Wright continued his career renaissance with two goals and two assists.

The Sockers opened the season Nov. 3 with a lopsided 15-2 win over the Sacramento Surge. In that one, Chiles scored four goals, while Farber added a pair. Chad Hagerty had two goals and two assists while rookie Raymundo Reza of SDSU netted a goal and an assist.
