On Nov. 4, two beach-area groups presented SDPD Northern Division Capt. Brian Ahearn with a total of $1,500 in donations to help fund much-needed repairs for the Pacific Beach police substation, which has been in a state of disrepair for many years.
“We never get to give back to the men and women who keep us safe,” said La Jolla Town Council trustee and Rotarian Nancy Gardner, who spearheaded the project. “They’re always giving to us, and we should always be thanking them. How can you thank enough the men and women who keep us safe on a daily basis? The things I’ve seen them do are amazing.”
Members of the Pacific Beach Town Council (PBTC) also recently presented a $500 donation to Capt. Ahearn to bolster improvements to the storefront.
The SDPD storefront repair project is still in need of monetary donations for equipment and supplies before repairs begin in January. Checks made payable to the San Diego Police Officer’s Association are tax deductible. For more information about the project or to donate, contact Nancy Gardner at email@example.com or (858) 456-3000.
