From 1 to 3 p.m., guests are invited to lunch on a light, flavor-forward cuisine by executive chef Mario Medina, who will feature platefuls of the season’s finest produce like avocados, beets, chard and cauliflower accompanied by boutique wine selections to pair perfectly with the season.
Following the two-course luncheon, which includes coffee, tea and optional wine offerings, a bevy of models will strut their stuff down the runway, showcasing the latest spring wear from La Jolla boutiques Mimi & Red and Pink Lagoon.
Guests are encouraged to bring donations of lightly used teenage girls’ and women’s clothing to the event to benefit the local mother-daughter nonprofit that collects boutique-style clothing for disadvantaged girls, My Girlfriend's Closet, to which a portion of the proceeds from tickets to the event will also be donated. The luncheon and fashion show is $35.
