‘Accomplice’ extended yet again — Due to popular demand, La Jolla Playhouse announced another extension for its acc-laimed, sold-out Without Walls (WoW) production of “Accomplice: San Diego.” The extension dates are May 2 through June 2, with performances starting every 30 minutes on Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $49 and are available by calling (858) 550-1010 or by visiting lajollaplayhouse.org.

Theater district gets an upgrade — Award-winning Spurlock Poirier Landscape Architects has been tapped to handle a $1.5 million redevelopment of the UC San Diego Theatre District, which houses the La Jolla Playhouse and the UC San Diego Theatre and Dance Department. The project is slated for completion in August and includes significant upgrades and enhancements to about 1.8 acres on the UCSD campus, adjacent to the Mandell Weiss Forum, Mandell Weiss Theatre, Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre, and Molli and Arthur Wagner Dance Facility.

Art for the seals — Mangelsen Images of Nature Gallery hosted an event to help fund the seal cam at Children’s Pool on April 25. Former county Supervisor Pam Slater-Price presented an award to Mayor Bob Filner for his support of the seals, while county Supervisor Dave Roberts and chairman of the Western Alliance for Nature Lawrence Wan were in attendance. Wan, a wildlife photographer, presented a slide show on marine mammals.
