Wednesday, Sept. 18: Back to School Night, 5 p.m. This event will feature information about school events and activities, the chance to meet teachers and staff, learn about the curriculum and expectations of students and the chance to meet other families attending the school.   


Pacific Beach Middle School

Thursday, Sept. 26: Back to School Night, 5 p.m. Join your students and tour PBMS, learn about the curriculum and expectations while meeting the PBMS teachers and staff. It’s a great chance to meet other PBMS families.


Barnard Asian Pacific

Language Academy

Thursday, Aug. 29:

2 p.m. — Kindergarten orientation

3 to 6 p.m. — Back to School Pot Luck. Come meet your Barnard community. New parents, as well as “seasoned” parents will be in attendance.

6 to 7 p.m. — Coffee Talk With Mr. Park. All-school orientation. Class lists will be available and uniform orders will be ready for pick-up.

Music Academy

Thursday, Aug. 29: Back to School Social Dine-in, 4 to 6 p.m. Meet our new principal, Muriel Bartolini, get to know our wonderful staff and discover classroom assignments. $2 child/$3 adult. Spaghetti or lasagna plates will be sold as our first fundraiser of the year, sponsored by our PTO. All proceeds go to support our music programs. Friday, Aug. 30:

Noon to 1 p.m. — School tours

1 to 3 p.m. — Orientation in the auditorium for new students, kindergartners and transitional kindergartners

3 to 5 p.m. — New student meet up/play date at Kate Sessions Park

Friday, Aug. 30: New student orientation, 1 p.m., in the auditorium for all entering kindergarten students and anyone new to PBE.

Tuesday, Sept. 3: Welcome coffee at 8 a.m. in the lunch court

Wednesday, Sept. 4:  Friends of Pacific Beach Elementary School (FOPBE) meeting, 6 p.m., Room 9 (location subject to change). Childcare provided

Friday, Sept. 6:  Volunteer Orientation at 8 a.m., PBE auditorium

Wednesday, Sept. 12: Back to School Night. Learn about your child’s curriculum and meet their teachers. Meet at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium and move into your child’s classrooms from 6 to 7 p.m.

Volunteers needed for teacher lunch and breakfast. FOPBSS will be hosting a lunch for PB Middle School teachers on Thursday, Aug. 29 at noon.
