Larry Wing, 75, Navy veteran, respected SDSU administrator

Lawrence “Larry” Marvin Wing passed away on Jan. 4.

He was 75.

Born Nov. 26, 1938 in Sumner, Neb., he moved to San Diego after joining the Navy at age 18.

After graduating from San Diego State University, he became a loved and respected teacher and administrator for SDUSD.

He spent his last years in retirement, enjoying family, friends and many trips to Baja California.

He is survived by his three daughters, Laura Wing, Stephanie Nuevo and Janel McCarthy; and siblings Harvey Wing, Patsy Loschen, Norma Robison and Charles Daniels.

He will be dearly missed by grandchildren Miranda, Matias, Jaden and Bryce, as well as by many friends.

A celebration of life was held Jan. 26 at The Thursday Club on Santa Barbara Street in San Diego.
