Amid an increase in residential burglaries and auto thefts and a resulting public concern, Bird Rock Community Council invites residents to attend a neighborhood watch parley with representatives of the San Diego Police Department on Thursday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bird Rock Elementary School Auditorium, 5371 La Jolla Hermosa Ave.

Police officers will introduce ways to protect homes and cars and how to deal with solicitors and will offer other information designed to promote personal and neighborhood safety.

Increases in Bird Rock residential burglaries and auto thefts have reportedly been trending upward for more than a year.
