A bank robber who held up three tellers and was arrested in the Midway District pleaded guilty April 29 to all charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Oscar Esteban Valle, who turned 28 the day he pleaded guilty, will be sentenced June 10 before San Diego Superior Court Judge Timothy Walsh.

He pleaded guilty to three robbery charges of the three tellers at the Wells Fargo bank branch at Balboa near Genesee Ave. in Clairemont on Sept. 20, 2014. Valle, of National City, also pleaded guilty to evading police with reckless driving and carrying a loaded weapon.

Valle fled the bank with a GPS tracker inside cash and police followed him to the Midway District. He crashed into a patrol car and another vehicle. He abandoned his vehicle on the Interstate 8 off-ramp at Sports Arena Boulevard before he was arrested.

At a Dec. 17, 2014 preliminary hearing, a judge ordered him to stand trial on the charges but dismissed the charges against his sister and his girlfriend who were accused as being accessories after the fact. Valle was previously convicted of auto theft in 2010. He remains in jail on $500,000 bail.
