Established in 2007, SuperGirl Pro, the world’s largest women’s surfing event of its kind, includes top ranked pros from the WSL Championship tour. The free event, sponsored by Paul Mitchell and Snikwah Performance Apparel, will feature a weekend filled with surfing, a festival village with female-inspired apparel and accessories, athlete autograph signings and many activities. Entertainment includes musicians, dancers, fitness classes, inspirational speakers and a food and beer garden.
Top pros who have participated in SuperGirl Pro include Bethany Hamilton, Carissa Moore, Coco Ho, Lakey Peterson, Malia Manuel, Courtney Conologue, Alessa Quizon, Alana Blanchard, Sage Ericson and Jazmine Dean.
Dean, a Snikwah brand ambassador, will be debuting at SuperGirl Pro this year after a number of competitions worldwide, where she has shown impressive rankings.
“I’m so stoked about SuperGirl.” Dean said. “I’ve been looking forward to competing for a while now. The best surfers in the world compete there.”
The competition is a make-or-break moment for Dean as she competes against pros she normally doesn’t get to compete against.
“We are excited to be a part of SuperGirl Pro and supporting such an impressive group of athletes. They represent the very best in the world,” said Snikwah CEO Roy Smith.
Snikwah, this year’s apparel sponsor, will be providing the entire event staff and each SuperGirl Pro contestant an Original Snikwah performance shirt. This shirt has an UPF 50+ rating and helps regulate body temperature.
More than 70,000 are expected to watch these female athletes perform.
In addition to a national TV audience of more than 1 million viewers, the SuperGirl Pro will also reach over 3 million through social media and live streams.
SuperGirl Pro will be filmed and turned into a docudrama to be aired on Fox Sports Network. The premier date will be posted on SuperGirlJam.com.
A SuperGirl Pro webcast will go live on Monday, Aug. 10.
