Arrest made in Pacific Beach hit and run case

On Aug. 5, the San Diego Police Department began investigating a hit and run incident where three people were injured after a vehicle ran over them at ‪900 Garnet Ave. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the incident was not an accident and the act of running over the victims was intentional.

The driver of that vehicle was identified as 24-year-old Omar Gutierrez. On Sept. 27 at 5:20 p.m., Gutierrez was arrested at his place of work and booked on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of destruction of evidence. This investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at ‪888-580-8477.
