Writer’s Symposium by the Sea at PLNU next week

PLNU will present the 22nd annual Writer’s Symposium by the Sea from Feb. 21 to 23 at 3900 Lomaland Drive. All events are held in Crill Hall in the Cooper Music Building. General admission tickets are $10 and $5 for students.

Writers to appear:

- Robert Pinsky, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21. U.S. Poet Laureate, performing with the PLNU Jazz Band for a night of poetry and jazz. Pinsky has written 19 books, mostly of poetry, including “Gulf Music,” “At the Foundling Hospital,” “Jersey Rain,” “Poetry and the World.”

- Shauna Niequist, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22. Niequist’s new release is “Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic For A Simpler, More Soulful Way Of Living.” Other books include “Bread & Wine,” “Bittersweet,” “Cold Tangerines,” and “Savor.”

- Tracy Kidder, 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23. Kidder won the Pulitzer Prize for his book “The Soul of a New Machine.” His newest release is “A Truck Full of Money.” Other books include “Mountains Beyond Mountains,” “House,” “Strength in What Remains,” and many others.
