Folsom recently won the Div. II championships in the shot put with a toss of 55 feet, 10 inches.
“This is my third time winning CIF," Folsom said. "It’s been the best three years of high school sports. It’s an accomplishment. At state, I’ll have more opportunity to prove myself.”
Standing 6 foot 4 inches tall and weighing 315 pounds, Folsom also found success on the gridiron as an offensive guard where he routinely flattened opposing players while throwing blocks for his teammates.
His dominance was easily noted by opposing coaches and players and Folsom was named first team all-CIF each of the past two seasons.
Mike Estanol, who also coaches football at PLHS, is Folsom's shot put coach.
“He started as a baseball player and has applied the fundamentals of batting to the shot put," Estanol noted. "He’s studied this sport and gone far with it. He’s one of the most coachable athletes I’ve ever been around.”
Folsom has received several Div. I college offers and plans to continue playing at the next level.
