Santa will be making one of his first stops in Point Loma from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the grand opening of the Carriage House, at 1018 Rosecrans St., in the back of Jennings House Café – one of the oldest buildings in the area that is still being utilized.

Rumor has it that more than 100 years ago, horses were stabled in the building. A Point Loma resident remembers a car being housed there in the early 1940s, as she was asked to start the motor every now and then when the owner, a fisherman, was out to sea.

There will be house coffee free all day, as well as other specials. There will also be a live string trio playing Christmas Carols from 3 to 6 p.m. Hot mulled wine, hot cider and Christmas sangria will be featured.

Santa will be there so children may sit on his lap and regale him with what they want for the holidays. There will be drawings for gifts, and, of course, some of the delicious food and beverages that the Jennings House Café is becoming famous for serving.
