Freshly minted Euphoria XIX Grill in Midway is a neighborly place where Mexican, Greek and American cuisine is a meld, just like its trio of owners.

Business partners Anastasia Polles, Ivonne Mann and Pedro Navarro opened their new grill in February at Midway Towne Center in a space that was formerly Wahoos.

It’s the second time around in the restaurant business for Polles and Mann. “We grew up in restaurants,” said Mann. “My mom, and [Polles] too, had a few restaurants.”

“We’re a family business,” noted Polles.

“We have different local craft beers on tap, wine and a happy hour,” said Mann. Happy hour is 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays, 4 to 6 p.m. weekends.

Euphoria is open daily for lunch and dinner. Polles noted they carry a wide assortment of burritos as well as shrimp ceviche and cocktail sauce, carne asada, chicken and fish tacos as well as cheese quesadillas on the Mexican side; hummus, pita, falafel and kale salad in Greek cuisine; as well as American-style food favorites like buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, hamburgers and fish and chips.

The pet-friendly grill with outdoor patio seating also carries desserts including cheese cake and chocolate cake, baklava and choco-flan. There are also gyro, Greek and Caesar salads, carne asada fries and nachos and gyro sandwiches and plates.

Sample platters of the diverse cuisine are also available. A pet menu is planned soon.

Euphoria breaks its menu down into not so hungry, hungry and very hungry categories assisting customers select the right portion size.

“We wanted to have a fun atmosphere that people want to come out to chill, have a beer and a good time,” said Polles.

There are five strategically placed TVs within the spacious grill, which has a huge mirror in the rear with booths and tables inside as well as wifi and a PS4 for video game viewing.

Euphoria accommodates groups. “Someone can call ahead and we’ll reserve a spot for them,” said Polles.

“We have a nice patio with heaters,” added Mann.

“The community really has welcomed us,” noted Polles.

“They like to support the little people,” said Mann.

Polles and Mann do it all. “We’re not a big corporation, it’s just us waiting tables,” said Polles. “We cook, we clean,” said Mann. “Everything is done from scratch, the dressings, the sauces. Everything is fresh. People notice when they come in.”

The pair get in early in the mornings and prepare food for days ahead. But it’s all worth it.

“We like people. We like to hang out with people,” said Polles.

“You feel good when you look at the reviews, and you talk to people, and they tell you it’s great. It makes it all worth it,” said Mann.
