University City High School student Mica Giaconi took her musical aspirations up to a new level when she auditioned for TV show “American Idol.” Mica was selected to sing in front of celebrity judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry as part of the top 40 contestants. While unable to reach the finals, Giaconi is not done with her musical career. “I think with every new opportunity or gig, I come close to finding my own style,” she said. “I do think that every musician has their own vibe, and I’m still trying to find that.” Giaconi is active with the UCHS Music Club, and performs regularly with her father Daniel Giaconi at Pesto restaurant on El Cajon Boulevard. We’re sure to hear more of Giaconi’s voice in the future.
