The Port of San Diego invites the public to a series of community discussions regarding the future of San Diego Bay and the surrounding waterfront. The events, all to be held in June at four locations throughout San Diego County, offer an opportunity to San Diego-area residents to learn about the Discussion Draft of the Port Master Plan Update (PMPU) and the process for providing input.

The Discussion Draft of the PMPU is a major milestone for the Integrated Planning effort and is now available for public review. It includes and addresses allowable uses and activities, future development, and management of water and land within the Port’s jurisdiction on San Diego Bay by providing a mix of goals, policies and standards supported by written narratives, figures and tables. The goals and policy concepts in the document were drafted with review and input by the public, stakeholders and Board of Port Commissioners. To view the Discussion Draft online, visit portofsandiego.org/pmpu.

The Community Discussions are part of a 90-day public review period that ends July 31.

The events, titled - “The Future of San Diego Bay: A Community Discussion” - will all begin at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation on the process of drafting the Port Master Plan Update and an overview of the Discussion Draft. Attendees will then be able to ask questions of the Port’s planning staff to help understand and navigate the Discussion Draft’s contents and how to provide written comment.

• June 6: Port of San Diego Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway;
