In alignment with the State of California’s public health order prohibiting large events and gatherings, the Port of San Diego, title sponsor of the Big Bay Boom, and event producer Sandy Purdon remind the public there will not be a live fireworks show on San Diego Bay on Saturday, July 4.

The annual fireworks shows in Ocean Beach, La Jolla, and Pacific Beach (SeaWorld) have also all been canceled.

Instead of live fireworks, the public is invited to tune in to a Big Bay Boom television special at 8:30 p.m. on July 4 on FOX 5 (San Diego) and KTLA (Los Angeles), as well as on stations in San Francisco and Sacramento, so viewers throughout California can watch from the comfort of their homes.

The “Best of the Best” special will pay tribute to heroes who make America special, along with pre-recorded content from the Embarcadero and other San Diego sites, and will culminate with 24 minutes of the best clips from the last five years, including a premiere of drone footage from 2019.
